WELCOME TO FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

We’re glad you’re here!   Whether you’ve attended church your whole life or never stepped foot inside one before, our church is a safe place to bring your doubts, questions and curiosity, regardless of your beliefs or background. We invite you to come and take a look around.  We have wonderful programs for children, youth, and adults alike.  However, what you’ll find more than great programs is a community of people who truly desire to come together in the presence of God.  You matter to God and to us!

A WARM PERSONAL GREETING

One of our Greeters will greet you at the door or in the narthex before the service begins.  Everyone is warmly welcomed.  Before or after the service as a first time visitor you will receive guest information from one of our Ushers or Greeters.

WHAT IS THE SERVICE LIKE?

The 10:55am services is traditional with familiar hymns and a structured program.

A WEEKLY ORDER OF SERVICE & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our ushers will give you a “bulletin” when you arrive.  In it you will find ample information to guide you through the worship service, as well as information about current program activities.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

Our church is a “come as you are” church.  We strive to provide an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming.  People come in a variety of clothing styles, from casual sports shirts, jeans and sneakers to coats and ties, skirts or pants – whatever you prefer is fine.  Our sanctuary is air conditioned for your comfort.

What is available for my kids?

We love kids here at our church!  We have children’s programs designed just for them so they can learn about God’s love for them every week in a vibrant way.

Children are always welcome in the worship services.  As a matter of fact, we believe it is important for our kids to be with us during the service.  During the 11am service, a special Young Discple moment is offered.

Kids are invited to participate in Young Disciples’ W.O.W. during the 11am service.  Following the Young Disicples moment, the kids are escorted to their own special worship service where they sing songs, learn about Jesus, and have special learning activities.  They are returned to the sanctuary to join their parents at the end of worship.

We have the nursery available during the 11 a.m. worship service.  Just ask one of our friendly greeters to guide you to the nursery.

WILL I BE ASKED TO GIVE MONEY?

Offerings are given as an act of worship for attendees who consider our church their home.  At our church, we teach and believe in Biblical stewardship.  For new guests, your presence is a gift to us. We want you to be blessed by the service without feeling any obligation to give.  In fact, we have a small gift for you.  Please stay and meet our pastor and accept a small token from our church family to yours.

HOW LONG WILL THE CHURCH SERVICE LAST?

Morning worship services are approximately one hour long.

DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO TAKE COMMUNION?

Communion is open to all and is served the first Sunday of the month.

STAYING INFORMED

Our main lobby (narthex) contains brochures with current ministry materials and information about upcoming events. The church also publishes a monthly newsletter which includes a calendar.  Copies are available in the Narthex or Church Office and can be viewed or printed from the calendar page of the church web site.

FRIENDLY FOLLOW-UP

If you provide your name, address and phone number in the red pew register, you will receive a follow-up contact from the pastor with an invitation to join us again!
